Republican Senator John McCain and Democratic Senator Barack Obama, both campaigning to be the next President of the United States, help their second debate in Nashville, Tennessee. As promised, the bulk of the debate centered around the recent $700 billion bailout plan to help rescue the economy and help homeowners stay in their homes and avoid foreclosure.
Moderated by Tom Brokaw, both Presidential candidates sparred over a bevy of other issues, including tax cuts, energy policies and health care reform plans. Although no candidate made a major mistake, both took turns lobbing jabs at one another. And although both men argued that their tax plan would mostly benefit the middle class, Senator Barack Obama tried to paint Senator John McCain as favoring the wealthy class and leaving the middle class out in the cold.
Both candidates also cut into each other's congressional voting record with precision, and at one point Senator John McCain even referred to Senator Barack Obama as "That One."
