Smaller, luxurious cars assume lease leadership
The following write-up was posted at www.leasetrader.com.
There's a downshift in vehicle preference — drivers want smaller cars, according to customer data by Miami-based LeaseTrader.com, a company that assists people in the transfer of car leases. About 15 percent of its customers transfer out of leases with the intention of getting a smaller car. Economic drivers — housing costs and gas prices — factor into the decision.
But if consumers are looking to pinch pennies, they aren't quite ready to give up all their luxuries. LeaseTrader's monthly index, which tracks America's most popular leased vehicles, showed that in the last four months, the Mercedes C-230 Sport Sedan and the BMW 3 series topped the list.
