Dealer Closes Doors on Car Lease holders

Toledo, Ohio--October 4, 2007 - The Jaguar-Land Rover dealership in Sylvania Township suddenly closes its doors, leaving some customers out some cash and without a ride. There are still plenty of cars on the lot. The dealership is closed for business and that means big problems for many people.
Linda Marie Domini and her husband bought this shiny new black
Jaguar last week or so they thought.
"The paperwork has not been completed. We signed a lease agreement. However, a lease has not been put into effect with the leasing company."
Just two days after the Domini's signed the lease agreement the dealership closed leaving them in a bind.
"Since the car that we traded in still had a pay off remaining and part of our agreement was for that to take place, but the transition has not yet been completed.
So the Domini's still own the car on the dealers lot. As for the car in their driveway, they don't own it but they are liable for it.
The Better Business Bureau President Dick Eppstein says they have received a number of calls from people with similar problems. From what he has heard, customers won't be left high and dry.
Eppstein says, "In this case from what I have been told, Ford motor is involved in closing this. They are standing behind the dealer and they are going to take care of everybody."
Linda Marie says the only person who is contacted her was a former sales manager. The Domini's are still making payments for the car on the lot, but say their hopeful things will get cleared up before they also have to pay for the one in their driveway.
A representative at the dealership says someone will be there from 8 to 5 Monday through Friday to answer questions.
