Car Shopping With Your Tax Rebate

Survey: Car shopping with tax rebates not likely

American City Business Journals

Most tax-paying Americans won't be spending their rebate checks from the federal government on cars.

That's according to a LeaseTrader.com survey, which found 81 percent of car shoppers have no plans of rushing to the nearest car lot with rebate check in hand.

"The results of this survey give an indication of just how much the current economy has affected the average American consumer," said Sergio Stiverman, chief executive officer and founder of LeaseTrader.com, in a release.

Miami-based LeaseTrader.com matches car shoppers with drivers who want to get out of vehicle leases. The one-week online survey polled thousands of car shoppers, the release said.
